Tell a friend:

he doesnt say play an e major scale over A7.. he says dorian. A7 is a mixolydian scale... G would be a lydian scale... f# would be phyrgian... e would be dorian..
you dont know music theory.. shutup..
A Jonian = Amajor scale
A Dorian = Gmajor Scale
A Phrygian = Fmajor Scale
A Lydian = Emajor Scale
A Mixolydian = Dmajor Scale
A Eolyan = Cmajor Scale (same as Aminor)
A Locrian = A#major scale
and i dont know music theory?? lol that u just said is a big.. big time shit...
and sorry for my english because im not from USA
so the dorian scale based off of Dmajor would be e minor.
A7 = A C# E G
A7 is the fifth chord in the Dmajor scale
see,
Dmaj7 -D F# A C#
emin7 -e g b d
fmin7 -f# a c# e
Gmaj7 -G B D F#
A7 -A C# E G
bmin7 -b d f# a
C#halfdim7 -c# e g b
A7 = Mixolydian - 1
bmin7 = aeolian - 2
c#halfdim7 = locrian - 3
Dmaj7 = Ionian - 4
emin7 = dorian - 5
you are wrong my friend.. the fifth scale degree above A7 dominant will be e dorian...
u are calling a DOMINANT chord, as a ROOT chord, u cant. my friend, chords with 7m,are DOMINANT, and this A7, came from the Dmajor key. because he is the dominant chord for D.
you CAN'T call A7 a ROOT CHORD, so
what you are saying is, A7 is the ROOT of this harmonic camp (sorry for my english),you are wrong because, the root chord, according to the greek modes, has to be a MAJOR chord, not a DOMINANT CHORD
in BLUES, we do this, because is a EXCEPTION OF THE RULE!
the FIFT OF A7 IS E7... thats why we play that in blues!
im not here to fight, i think music is art and we have to do it with our hearts, not with our minds. and what this guy is doing in the video is confusing our brains out. so keep playing and lets feel the nice feeling that music can bring to us. Peace for you dude.
besides, think of the most used chord progression in jazz, a ii V I. which is dorian
Stop acting like the big man and perhaps you'll get a bit of respect for the first time in your life..
Piece of shit.
I apoligise for my previous comment. I just hope you accept this apology?
