Sounds like you don't know shit about genetics. Also sounds like you don't know anything about sex-linked (X or Y chromosome) phenotypes. For instance Down's Syndrome is a sex-linked disease (due to trisomy 21 duplication error). That is not to compare a disease to sexual preference, just noting that it is sex-linked..learn something before you post.

down's syndrome is an entire extra chromosome, your example is useless to your argument. Dont tell me to "learn something". Why don't you present me with some proof of your concept. Sexual preference is something so delicate, homosexuality could easily be accountable toward defect. Justify your claims, and I wont tell you to "learn something", because I'm not a condescending jackass.

I was using an obvious example...there are MANY MANY other examples: (in humans) hemophilia, MD, male colorblindness (red/green). Using "simple logic" is frankly a bad idea when exploring genetics...the scientific method is much better. The fact that many species exhibit homosexuality is an example of why "simple logic" is a bad idea. There are very complex mechanisms at work,a recipe rather than a formula. A near-chaotic system where various factors have hi/low predictive value.

an obvious example, because i "don't know shit about genetics" right?
Homosexuality does not prevent you from surviving in nature, like say blindness, but it does prevent you from passing on your genes.
Very complex mechanisms at work means birth defects also occur. Not necessarily because they are genetic, but because in nature, accidents occur.

I resent how you stack up homosexuality with "birth defects". Did you know that studies are showing that most species where homosexuality is evident, bisexuality is more of the trueth. Either to regulate group numbers of a species or simply for practice for reproduction with the opposite gender. If breeding was the end all be all in biology, then other species would not exibit this type of sexuality. Try looking it up. Sexuality is a very diverse thing even in the wild.
"Try looking it up" ... ( 2 months ago by mortson978)
"Try looking it up" wow, just because you say that does not make you right. You say homosexuality exists in the wild, but so do many genetic abnormalities. We don't consider those normal. Some people are born murderers, but environmental factors play a role also. It's nature vs nurture. Its true, some homosexuals are born that way, but not all, and for those born that way, it is not normal. They are not capable or redistributing their genetics through conventional means.

The more recent is ... ( 1 month ago by JeremySunCanada)
The more recent is an species, the more "junk" DNA it has. The "junk" DNA is ancestral DNA. Humans and chimps share 98 percent of DNA, but mostly we share "junk" DNA, because humans and chimps share about 97 percent of their evolutionary history, since these two species diverged around 5 million years ago, out of a total of more than 3 billion years of evolution of life on Earth.

well, there is no junk in our dna! this DNA is there to be used when we really use it.. if some of our "mothers" decide that it is time to go back some years because it fits better to the surroundings, we will "devolve" to this state. well, thats not scientific, but my thinking :-)
The "junk" DNA ... ( 1 month ago by psychetruth)
The "junk" DNA isn't organized to make proteins. So, it can't be used like the other genes, which why scientist started calling it junk DNA.

Ah. Might I make a little statement on your genes-coding-for-multiple-proteins mention? It's true. From what I've learned, it's because of introns. Introns are not jump DNA, they are pieces of DNA within a gene that can be selectively 'cut out' during transcription to RNA. Introns are not junk DNA since they (often) have a function. However, that doesn't say anything about all the junk DNA found between our genes.
There are ways of ... ( 3 weeks ago by CoolFire666)
There are ways of telling what race DNA belongs to. (Just to make a short example, there's a bit of DNA in some African races that allow for better resistance to malaria.)
If you do some ... ( 3 weeks ago by psychetruth)
If you do some research on this you will find it's there are currently no reliable DNA test for determining race and ethnicity.
One of the reason for this is interbreeding between races. If you great great great grand daddy was an American Indian you may be considered completely Caucasian but that little bit of Indian DNA might still be present.
