I would hope that this would not deteriorate and fall into the moronic white/black discussion. Forget about that stupid stuff. Half the trumpeters I mentioned are white. Right now, Tom Harrell is one of the highest of all jazz masters, white or black. Let's not go there. Terumasu Hino is one of the greats of the last 30 years.

Who is the best for whom?
Everybody has his taste, but Mr Doulgas is an innovator and (in my opinion a great soloist)
His love for the music, his project are really great.
You can't say that about Mr Blanchard,Mr Marsalis very good mainstreamer players....but sincerly I already have heard that kind of music and I prefer miles and co.

Not even a fair point - they're all masters because they devoted themselves to the performance, study, and innovation in music - and they all had their own strong artistic visions, just like the great composers like Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss, and Mahler had.

I like how all these people trash Dave on here and probably none of them have accomplished any of the things he has. What's the point? If you don't like it, don't listen to it. He's obviously still a skilled musician, its not like this is a Kenny G video, so just be happy that this group can make the music they want to and make a living, because they're all way better than any of us, so if they couldn't do it there wouldn't be much hope for the rest of us
