That doesn't apply here in the slightest. Actual evidence that global warming is occurring has been given to us - you can't pass people that believe in this off as being gullible and simple-minded. Have you seen the graphs presented in "An Inconvenient Truth"? There is a direct relation between carbon dioxide levels and temperature. It would be dumb to go against this simple graph that anybody could read with intelligence and realize what we're in for.

That is not an error in my logic. Your attitude about global warming is completely wrong. You fail to see the problem with our industrialized society dumping massive amounts of fuel emissions into the atmosphere. Do you honestly think that it will have no negative effects on the earth? Check out a book on basic rhetoric or logic. It is quite a stretch from stating that fuel emissions have some effect, which when so weakly stated, is undoubtably true, to EMISSIONS ARE GOING TO CAUSE CATASTROPHIC CLIMATE CHANGE!!! When ever did I say there would be no negative effect? Save your straw man arguments for your me2 green party meetings.

Yes. A direct relationship. Look at the graphs and tell me that there is no relationship between CO2 and temperature levels. If you fail to see the EASY TO SPOT relationship, there's truly no hope for people like you - people who insist on being unique by stating untrue facts to sway the eyes of others. There used to be a 0% doubt in global warming, but now that the government has a part to play the doubt has risen to ~50%. 50% is a whole lot more people.

There is a direct relationship. Variations do exist, but it's quite plain to the eye that there is a relationship. Again, look at the graphs and you'll see. If you can't see it, there's surely no hope in people like you. You insist on telling others that they're wrong despite obvious evidence proving the truth. It's simple to see.

How will the world attempt to move the masses from the coast as the oceans rise? Forget global warming if its real or not (I think it is), but we clearly see ice melting, that will raise the oceans, billions live on the coasts.

The world doesn't need to do anything. Individual people will move if they need to move. But latest word is there might be at most 1 foot of sea level rise in the next 100 years. Hardly a worry. Also, we do not have any accurate measurement of the overall mass of ice in the antarctic and whether it is growing or shrinking.

Indeed. "Hardly a worry", considering the following paragraph taken from National Geographic;
"Worldwide some 100 million people live within 3 feet (1 meter) of mean sea level. Rises of just 4 inches (10 centimeters) could promote flooding in many South Sea islands, while in the U.S. Florida and Louisiana are at risk."

What the article fails to mention is that these 100 million people are also the richest and further that people settle close to the ocean because they want to be there and because government insurance too often bails them out of million dollar losses. No, our grandchildren would not be in a better position because a) at the rate of population growth there will be over four times the population then than there are now, and b) the environment will be that much worse. There is no doubt or inquiry about the existence of Global Warming; it IS there, the changes are obvious and all around us. The temperature is already rising, faster than predicted, and the process of desertification is at a rate of 1 square inch on the edge of every desert land.

mrbenderson, a) Wealth is the sum total of humans valuing the production of other humans. More humans = more wealth. Your Malthusian concepts were proven wrong long ago. b) the temperature, however it is measured is rising slower than predicted, and has shown no growth since 1998. The "scientific" support for further warming scenarios is weak and in many cases outright wrong.

The Dutch figured out how to drain the lowlands, cultivate and live there below sea level hundreds of years ago. elrealdeal1, You are right that global warming has been going on for many years -- so has cooling. The Earth will continue to warm and freeze whether humans think they have anything to do with it or not. Anthropogenic (human-caused) warming is pure vanity. We once thought the Sun revolved around the Earth too... 500 years later, we have the same problem.
