In my view tony doesn't die ...the ending shows meadow running to the door then cuts to tony and before the screen cuts to black you hear the door open and the tony puts his hand at his side where his gun is because even though its his own daughter coming through that door he has to do that because thats the life of a mobster and he and his family have to live with that feeling of looking behind their back for the rest of their life.

i thought at first he was wearing a different shirt from the transition of him standing near the door to sitting down, it looked indeed like he changed his shirt. Another observation that was made by hudson was that he saw it all in his mind. But why would the screen suddenly black out, you ask? Thats completely up to you. But lets look at this again...notice the song before journey on the songs he was looking through? that was the song playing when he talked to bobby about death lastseason

on another point, made by xboxer mike, he claims that tony reaches for his gun. But the episodes coming up to this one show that he was going to eventually die. The trucker in the corner...the 2 black guys that walk in...even the man in the members only jacket, they all had it out for him, so theres no possible way that he could have survived. But again, its alll up to you. Do you really think tony could have died? After watching all 6 seasons again, the characters matched. they all hadmotive

im gonna miss it so much, i wanted that show to last forever, the wire was fantastic too, but sopranos was possibly the best tv ever made IMO.
i just rewatched season 1+2 and its still fresh to me, im seeing things that i forgot or didnt notice last time around.
we need more well made quality shows like these !! not more of the usual braindead crap

He's dead guys. C'mon. We saw this show through Tony's eyes. He was the centre of everything. Just a few episodes earlier they were talking about how when you get whacked you don't see it coming. You're gone before you know it. It cuts to black because that's how Tony experiences being whacked. Remember in The Godfather how Michael went to the loo to get his gun before whacking the bent Police chief in the restaurant? This is a reference to that. 30 seconds of black? No music for the first time?

Also... watch the first episode of the sixth series. The guy who commits suicide cos he feels trapped and Tony won't let him out of the family? Remember his jacket? Look at this guys jacket. Identical. He's trying to get out cos he wants to join family in Florida (I think). I think Florida came back to bite Tony in the ass. My theory. Ok, enough! The world still turns folks ;)

people say hes dead because the comment bobby made like maybe you dont even hear it comming ..or meadow it took her 3 times to park,and tony life had two attempts on it and the third was in the diner in the finale....but i heard through a good source that all the old locations renewed permits so i think the big screen is next i mean wouldnt yuou milk that cow for what its worth///
