You know the US basically founded the UN? You do know what that refers to?
US has the richest elite, sure. But as a country it does very poor.
US has unemployment rate of 6.50. That's not very good. And not to mention General Motors is almost bankrupth atm.
Unemployment here is lower. But I don't see why you want to talk about that. It's just one variable. Some countries have almost no unempl. but you don't want to live there, trust me.
In the Netherlands the population that lives below poverty line is 10.4%. Compared to the US 8.2 (Both from July 2008.)
So basically, while you might have a lower unemployment rate, The average worker is paid poorly and is living in poverty.
US is in a depression, not a recession. The criteria hasnt been met for a recession. Still our economy effects the rest of the world. :)
