With all due respect, I find it equally arrogant to assume so dogmatically that there is no acive creator pulling strings or whatever. If someone is so pained that they take their own life, it is not that big of an assumption to say he is better off wherever he is now, but it could very well be worse there too. Who knows..To each his own belief.

We don't know what happens after death, because none of us has died and then lived to tell about it (excluding NDE's, which seem a little faulty)
If there is consciousness after death, it is probably better than the consciousness that we have while bound by our flesh (the concept of hell defies the nature of a benevolent being--which is love), but we do not know that there is God because we do not have substantial proof either way.

i forgot this was grounds to argue whether god exists or not. whatever your personal belief is, keep it to yourself cause it just makes everyone else view you as a pompous ass. sure i know you want to force you views on others, but noone honestly cares. we all came to this page to listen to this AMAZING song and musician. and somehow we have people talking about their religious views. both sides of the argument are ignorant. let people form their own opinions off of their own experiences.

No one is saying he died from a broken collarbone. I am saying he was in considerable pain from it. Yes there was a "disterbance" involving Elliott at a Beck show. It did not involve Beck. Elliott intervened when security became abusive to some audience members.

Jeeze, dead at only 34. Poor guy. Even though he spent most of his career in obscurity, it's still very clear he was a musical genius. I only recently started listening to him after they were playing his music on a Sirius station. I perked up with the D.J. started making comments on how depressing his music is. Well, pushing past the fact all his song make great listening if you're sitting on a couch with a tub of ice cream he is missed and really I wish he was still around.
