That is a very simplistic analysis of why the gang problem exists. Poverty = no food at home? Anyone ever hear of welfare? I don't know about on the West Coast but in Ny, even single males are eligible for cash assistance and the food stamp program. No one is dying of hunger, unless you want to. A single male can get close to $200 for food alone a month. A woman with children ALOT more. Work and racism don't go hand in hand as they used to. It is more about no education = no decent pay.
