Let's look at your ... ( 7 months ago by BigYellow9999)
Let's look at your statement that PP would have gone from 44 to *57* per game if there was a 3 pt line.
Let's say he made 16 fgs and went 12-16 from the foul line every game. He'd have to hit *13* 3s EVERY GAME to get to 57! So are you saying that *all* of his shots were from deep? He would make 3 2s a game and 13 of his shots would be 3s? Lololololol!!!!!!
But, of course, *you're* knowledgeable about basketball, right? You might want to apply some of that *knowledge* to your poor math skills!

MJ is defeinently the greatest playerof all time, but if you look at MJs early career compared to Pistols they are pretty identical. I'd say the thing that seperates hem is MJ staying health and the bulls giving hima decent supporting cast.

very good observatioon scoobiesnax , the three point line defintitely could make up for 6 points per game, the difference would be 6 shots..but these players took many shots with amazing acuracy..both are incredible. while pete is like a wizard even better than magic Johnson ibelieve.Jordans abilities add to his prowess and tenacity. Both just magical..I try ,, iwish,, i try again..haha
I disagree with you ... ( 7 months ago by BigYellow9999)
I disagree with you. Jordan averaged 28.2 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 5.9 apg 84.5% from the line on 51.5% shooting HIS ROOKIE YEAR! What year did PP have like this?
If you're trying to say that Jordan didn't have the titles early on and that's the comparison you're making, fine. Of course, nobody wins a title by themselves. You need a supporting cast. But let's put it like this. Jordan won six titles with Bill Cartwright, Luke Longley and Bill Wennington at center. 'Nuff said!!!

I believe Pete was the most offensively skilled player EVER and certainly the best ball handler. However, Michael Jordan, due to his far greater athleticism seems superior... BUT who knows what Pete might have done with the supporting cast guys like Magic, Bird and Jordan had. Kobe should be mentioned in this as well as Stockton, Nash, Isiah, Dr. J and David Thompson. Centers do not count! They pretty much suck.
Grant Hill is ... ( 7 months ago by itzjoeymac)
Grant Hill is pretty damn good... or was, but the rules in the NBA make it easier for athletic players to do well. I wonder if that is why FOREIGNERS are beating us in the olympics???

I agree. Pete was "at- will" do what he pleased when he pleased on the basketball court all the time. not many players have or had that ability....all the time....jordan......and the list falls.....quickly. peace

Pistol was a better overall player than MJ if one counts skills and fundamentals. Although MJ played better D. Championships are NOT a way 2 rate a player. (Then Chuck Nevitt would be a better than Charles Barkley.) Still the best overall is Kareem. End of story.

Pete actually did ... ( 4 months ago by 514stop)
Pete actually did lead the league in scoring in 1977. 31.5 points/game without a 3 point line. In 1978 Pete was again contending for the scoring title when after a 9 game winning streak he got hurt with what proved to be a career ending injury. Pete's injury came when he was just entering his prime and the Jazz would have made the playoffs. The expansion Jazz were actually 93-92 in games Pete played. His teams won 82% of the games in which Pete scored over 40. Pete the best 1 0n 5 player ever
