This is definitely my favorite Forza. A great Bastianini with his dark, almost bass-like timbre and clear diction, phrasing and a great technique to match; Corelli with his superb top, passionate interpretation and interesting dynamics (a man of his vocal weight should not have such superb piano!). And of course they had an excellent Leonora, Tebaldi. Christoff isn't bad either.

One word: PERFECT. As other comments, this is absolutely my favorite Forza, and my favorite tenor/baritone duet. Bastianini and Corelli are simply the best in that role (listen also the "Urna fatale" for Bastianini and the "La vita è inferno all'infelice" for Corelli, and of course the other duet "Solenne in quest'ora"). This is *THE* big great interpretation.
Others, also great artists, are so far from this interpretation, the passion, the voices.

Bastianini had the most pleasure bariton voice I've ever heard. Not strong as Warren, nor Gobbi, but beautiful, nice timbre. He used to sing as a tenor (not pushing the low notes), but with his wonderful bariton voice. Corelli is totally amazing here. Thanks for posting this video.

Sorry, when I said he used to sing as a tenor, I would like to say about the technique he used, not that he sang tenor arias nor roles. Usually opera baritons use to push their voices to chest very hardly, he didn't that. His voice used to fly over the notes similar to a tenor singing.

Bastianini occasionally Trabuco in Forza. This is a second tenor (I think a G is the highest note) role. He sang it for me in Geneva in the 60's. Di Stefano as an old man took rhis role often as well - he was hilarious
