Sorry about the crap quality, but I nabbed this from http://www.netsoc.ucd.ie/~justy/ years ago. Sound quality is alright though (I hope). Could anyone else get away with callin their lovely Irish mammy "an old slut on junk"? I think not...

Mcgowan is a great songwriter but only a pretend drunk. It is true he always has a drink in front of him but he never actually seems to consume much of it. He is at least a bit Irish. Are you? Are you sure your an Irishman? You don't write like one. Being American is nothing to be ashamed of (I have been there and had a great time) but pretending to be something your not is for losers. I knew McGowan when he was a middle class boy from Tunbridge Wells. The rest is an pretty much an act. The tragic thing is that he is truly talented.
