| Bonds is more famous writing/producing for other artists.He was an icon to Sringsteen before he became famous himself. They became close friends and began collaborating. Bonds wrote the song, but as you heard him thank Bruce in this video, Springsteen made it a hit.For many many years, Bonds has not received the credit he deserves from the public simply because you don't often hear his name. People assume he had a couple hits and that was it.He is still very active in the industry. |

| Regarding who wrote this and who made it famous: Bruce Springsteen wrote this song, and Gary recorded it on the album "Dedication." That's why he thanked Bruce-for writing him a single that wound up reaching #11 in '81. Bruce also wrote a few more songs for Gary (some also written by Steve Van Zandt) on Gary's '82 album, "On The Line." Bruce and/or Steve also produced the tracks on the two albums. The entire E Street band played for Gary on both of these albums. |

| God, the 1980's were a fantastic time for comebacks of all sorts---Tina Turner, John Fogerty, The Everly Brothers and of course, Gary US Bonds. Can you imagine if all four of these acts got together today to do some kind of a tour? The talent from all these people. Oh, Jesus. It would put every act on the radio today to shame. |

Bruce came across Gary playing small clubs and couldn't believe this great musical legend and his idol was playing there... so he got him the record deal, loaned out his song and Miami Steve... and they all made one great, great lp together. Gary appreciates what they did for him and probably would be embarrassed if he read what you wrote. Peace. |
